Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civil Construction Inspector in Minnesota to support the design, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure projects. You will conduct observations, monitor progress, and coordinate field sampling and testing to ensure quality and compliance with designs and regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), MS Office proficiency, and strong written communication. MnDOT certifications are a plus; visa sponsorship is not available.

Overview

As a Civil Construction Inspector at HDR, you will support the design, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress for civil projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
• Monitor, record, and inspect progress on construction projects.
• Co‑ordinate field materials sampling and testing, such as concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and in‑place soil compaction testing.
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Unsuccessful pre‑employment drug screening precludes acceptance of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• MnDOT certifications.
• Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
