Job summary

Forsgren Associates, recently acquired Apex Company, is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee roadway, grading, excavation, and bridge projects in line with contract plans. The role requires interpreting complex specifications and communicating findings to contractors and clients.

The candidate should be able to travel to project sites, work independently, maintain detailed inspection records, and handle change orders.

Qualifications

• Inspect, observe and ensure construction projects (roadway, mass grading, excavation, bridges) meet contract plans and specs.
• Interpret plans and specs to contractors and clients.
• Prepare and maintain records of plans, inspections, letters and reports.
• Identify contract changes and assist in change orders.

Job description

This role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.

Your Responsibilities as a Construction Inspector:

• Inspect, observe, and ensure construction projects-including road construction, mass grading and excavation and bridges are completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
• Interpret plans and specifications to contractors and clients.
• Prepare and maintain records of plans, inspections, letters, and reports used in connection with roadway and bridge inspection.
• Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders.
• Travel to project sites as required.

What we're looking for:

• Good knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required on construction projects, particularly in the areas of roadway grading, paving and bridge operations.
• Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
• A clean driving record.
• Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) IQP qualifications or willingness to take required exams to obtain them preferred.
