We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team and work on projects for NYC Parks within the five boroughs of NYC. This full‑time position includes intermittent opportunities for overtime work. You will use your technical knowledge and experience to guide the City's tree preservation and street tree programs. As you grow with Arcadis, you will become involved with other NYC Parks programs and City agencies, focusing on urban forests and natural systems such as the Staten Island Bluebelt and park restoration projects. In this role, you will conduct daily inspections, supervise, and control construction activities to ensure the overall safety of the site, compliance with permit conditions, and coordination with other city agencies is being maintained. You will closely monitor and supervise the performance of the contractors to ensure they adhere to technical requirements and maintain a high level of responsiveness and effectiveness.
In addition, you will be responsible for conducting on‑site measurements, tracking quantities, and performing design work before and during the construction process. Discussions with the contractor over measurement updates will ensure all parties are in agreement. These tasks will help you accurately assess the progress and quality of the project.
You will regularly report to the resident engineer, project lead, and professional engineer (PE) overseeing the programs to keep them informed. This will ensure effective communication and decision‑making throughout projects.
Participation in a green infrastructure mentorship program is required where you will gain valuable knowledge and skills related to environmentally friendly construction practices, allowing you to contribute to sustainable and eco‑conscious initiatives.

The salary range for this position is $32.00 - $32.50/hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
