Job summary

PTR Global seeks a field technician with experience in fiber and utility construction. You will work on underground and aerial installs, manhole/conduit work, and ensure safety procedures follow GO95/GO128 guidelines. Reading prints and ROW documents, plus tracking job status, are essential.

Responsibilities include verifying change orders, invoices, and delivering complete documentation for final project closeout, while coordinating with multiple teams to maintain accurate records and timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience working with underground and aerial utility construction.
• Hands-on with manhole and conduit installation and repair.
• Knowledge of Outside Plant Safety and Quality Procedures (GO95, GO128).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and ROW documents.
• Ability to track, monitor, and update databases or teams on job status.
• Ability to verify change orders and invoices for accuracy.
• Review all documentation for completeness before final submission of job packages.

Job description

• Working knowledge of underground and aerial utility construction
• Manhole and conduit construction
• Outside Plant Safety and Quality Procedures (GO95, GO128 as applicable)
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering work prints and ROW documents
• Tracking, monitoring, and updating databases or other workgroups on job status
• Verifying correct change orders and/or invoices
• Reviewing all documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting job packages for final closing

Technical Knowledge

• Proper fiber broadband FTTP installation
• ONT and Wi-Fi activation quality standards
• GPON & XGS testing and turn-up requirements
• BSW placement standards
• Fiber feeder and distribution fault isolation
• Troubleshooting, damage set-up, and restoration procedures

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of customer service practices during inspections is valuable
