Wallace Montgomery is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform field inspections and document construction and maintenance projects across Maryland. The role requires travel, testing soils and materials, and maintaining accurate reports.
Ideal candidates will hold a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to obtain required certifications. The position entails coordinating traffic control and supporting change orders as projects progress.
Construction Inspectors inspect, observe, and document construction and maintenance projects; performing tests on soils and materials. Work is performed under the supervision of a Project Engineer. In most cases, an Inspectors day to day direct supervisor may be a client's direct employee. Under the MDOT organization, Construction Inspectors have many categories that range from TET 1 to a TET 5, TE 1 to TE 5, and TEM 1&2. Under Baltimore City organization, Construction Inspectors have many categories that range from PWI 1 to 3 and CPS 1 to 3. Under County and other local government agencies, Construction Inspectors have many categories that range from an entry level inspector to a senior inspector. All Inspectors are required to travel and be available to work in any part of the State, subject to change of assignments, as work requires. We work when the contractor works. Inspectors are required to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Inspectors must also be able to work night shift when required.
