position summary

Merjent is seeking an experienced construction inspection manager to join our growing team. The construction inspection manager will be responsible for managing the company's construction inspection services, with an emphasis on pipeline inspection, in accordance with the company's strategic plan. This role will work closely with project managers to establish, implement, and oversee Merjent's short-term and long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies to ensure the construction inspection program is operating in an efficient and profitable manner.

This is a full-time benefits eligible opportunity that can be based anywhere in the U.S. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $122,200 and $177,700 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

responsibilities

  • Project/Construction management
  • Secure, schedule and direct construction inspection resources
  • Travel across a coverage region, with overnight stays when necessary.
  • Physical ability to navigate construction sites and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Assist with interpretation of construction plans and accurately document site compliance with state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
  • Assist in collecting, recording, and managing corrective actions and site inspections for multiple construction sites.
  • Coordinate with project teams and construction site managers to prevent and resolve compliance issues.
  • Comply with industry standard and client-specific safety requirements and apply situational awareness to mitigate in-field risks.

qualifications and experience

  • 10+ years' pipeline inspection experience, preferably 15+ years in a chief inspector role.
  • Welding and coating inspection experience preferred (NACE/AWS CWI).
  • Welding and coating certifications preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and ability to plan resource requirements to keep the business running smoothly.
  • Effective problem solver and forward-thinker.
  • Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience delegating work assignments, set expectations/deadlines, and monitor delegated activities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well and accept feedback from others.
  • Demonstrated experience building respectful relationships with internal and external parties and developing business opportunities while meeting company objectives.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug
  • Proficient with inspection documentation tools (tablets, mobile applications, etc.), and competency in using GPS or mapping technology to document site conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
