Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician to support a multi-year construction project at the Savannah River Site, located in Aiken, SC. The IH Technician will perform field monitoring for noise, dust, silica, welding fumes, and chemicals, and will operate and calibrate IH equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of IH experience in construction, industrial, DOE, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience performing IH sampling, occupational exposure monitoring, and field assessments.
• Experience monitoring silica, noise, welding fumes, heat stress, and other construction-related exposures.
• Experience with IH sampling equipment, calibration, and field monitoring techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform field industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling in support of construction activities.
• Conduct exposure monitoring for noise, dust, silica, welding fumes, chemicals, and other occupational health hazards.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and document IH sampling and monitoring equipment.
• Perform personal and area air sampling and maintain required sampling records and documentation.
• Support implementation of respiratory protection, hearing conservation, heat stress, and other programs.
• Evaluate construction work areas for potential IH hazards and recommend controls.
• Coordinate field activities with Safety, Construction, subcontractors, and project IH personnel.
• Assist with incident investigations, exposure assessments, audits, and regulatory or project reviews.
