Job summary

Landworks Engineering & Construction seeks diligent on-site laborers for building construction projects in Texas. You will perform physical labor and operate a range of hand and power tools to prepare sites, dig trenches, and assist with concrete work.

• 3+ years on-site construction preferred.
• Valid TX driver’s license.
• Ability to provide I-9 documentation.
• Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving physical labor at building construction projects.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
• Unload, carry, place, and secure with tie wire concrete reinforcing steel and accessories.
• Manually excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
• Handle and store materials.
• Placement and finishing of concrete using hand and power tools including troweling machines.
• Preparations for concrete pour including installing embedded items and cleaning.
• Concrete patching, repairing, and rubbing.
• Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specs, for molding concrete structures.
• Assist in demolishing activities.
• Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers.
• Operate electric powered tools.
• Signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance.
• Follow safety rules.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Reliable transportation required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years experience working on sitework infrastructure project preferred
• Valid TX driver’s license and insurable driving record
• 6 months to one year of construction experience is preferred
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
• Some knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work
• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to meet punctuality and attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

Pay Requirements

• +$18 per hour (depending on experience)
• Monthly bounes after 90 days of employment
