Job summary

Structures in Chaska, MN is seeking a Construction & Heavy Equipment Mechanic with mid-level skills to maintain, repair, and transport heavy equipment. The role blends shop work, documentation, and occasional driving to job sites.

You will diagnose issues, perform scheduled maintenance, load and unload equipment, and ensure safety and DOT compliance. OSHA 30 certification is preferred; CDL-A is a plus. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with equipment maintenance, repair, and fabrication.
• Diesel and heavy equipment experience preferred.
• CDL Class A with air brake endorsement and DOT medical card, or willingness to obtain CDL.
• Ability to travel for a week or longer.
• OSHA 30-hour safety training certification required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of construction and heavy equipment.
• Inspect and test equipment after repairs are completed.
• Perform scheduled equipment maintenance per industry standards.
• Ensure all equipment meets operational safety standards.
• Load and unload trucks with equipment and materials.
• Operate construction equipment safely and proficiently.
• Drive equipment to job sites locally and nationwide; maintain DOT logs.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and manage inventory.
