Job summary

Terracon in Akron, OH is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to coordinate and manage construction and geotechnical materials testing. You will lead lab staff, ensure safety and quality compliance, oversee equipment maintenance, and support project requirements with accurate testing services.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ testing experience, relevant certifications, and a valid driver's license. You will drive continuous improvement and help develop the lab’s capabilities to meet client

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials.
Certification by national, regional or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) or in-house certification is required in areas such as concrete, aggregates, soil and rock, or road and paving materials.
A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate or manage activities of a construction or geotechnical materials laboratory.
Ensure testing services are conducted safely and in accordance with Terracon quality protocols.
Oversee training and utilization of laboratory staff.
Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of laboratory equipment.
Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Ensure reports, proposals, and information for clients are prepared and reported.
