Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a General Laborer to support concrete and civil construction by performing a range of physically demanding, outdoor tasks on our Clyde, NC project sites.

Ideal candidates enjoy teamwork and outdoor work, with farming or agricultural backgrounds aligning well with the role's physical and cooperative requirements. This position involves various shifts and a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction, concrete, farming, ranching, or agricultural work preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts, including Saturdays if required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with concrete operations including forming, pouring, finishing, and cleanup.
• Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, lifting, carrying materials, and site cleanup.
• Operate hand tools and small equipment as directed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe jobsite.
• Work collaboratively with foremen, operators, and crew members.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.
