Construction General Contractor Project Manager

Coast Construction Group is a general contractor engaged in commercial construction in Washington and California with remote offices in the mid-west and projects nationwide. The company has been successful for 60 years working on both small- and large-scale construction projects, such as manufacturing, shipping & trucking facilities, industrial, Government, schools, tenant improvements, civil and medical projects and many more.

Our services include “Turnkey” design/build construction and bid/build construction, including general construction, civil work, and tenant improvement services as well as Architecture, Engineering, and full service permitting. In addition, we have a full staff of highly skilled tradesmen and management professionals. Coast can self-perform work or manage subcontractors with seasoned site superintendents and project managers.

We are hiring for a local Lancaster, CA position.

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be comfortable maintaining involvement in growth and sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers. Preparing estimates utilizing methods such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs, equipment costs, subcontractor bids, and applying to complete scope of work. Defining and quantifying scope of work and preparing comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects. Reviewing and researching historical data and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimators.

Required Criteria/Experience

5-7 years min. of experience with management and estimating for a general contractor. A strong understanding of the Washington, California, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Minnesota and or any other states construction market, including current market prices and clients. Exceptional math and computer skills including Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis in Excel and Project, Sage software is a plus, LEED certified is a plus. Experience managing client relationships and performing light business development duties. BA or BS Degree in Business, Engineering or preferably in Construction Management with five (5) years previous experience in a construction management environment OR ten (10) years work experience in an Estimating/PM role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Solid background in construction, bidding and estimating. Proven track record of problem-solving issues. Professional appearance and attitude, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to represent Coast Construction Group in a positive and professional manner. Thorough knowledge of Project Management coordination and scheduling. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately. Proficient at reading, writing, and comprehending contractual legal documents and/or draft addendums.
