Coast Construction Group is a general contractor engaged in commercial construction in Washington and California with remote offices in the mid-west and projects nationwide. The company has been successful for 60 years working on both small- and large-scale construction projects, such as manufacturing, shipping & trucking facilities, industrial, Government, schools, tenant improvements, civil and medical projects and many more.

Our services include “Turnkey” design/build construction and bid/build construction, including general construction, civil work, and tenant improvement services as well as Architecture, Engineering, and full service permitting. In addition, we have a full staff of highly skilled tradesmen and management professionals. Coast can self-perform work or manage subcontractors with seasoned site superintendents and project managers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in coordinating and overseeing daily field operations to ensure construction activities are performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. This role assists with supervising subcontractors, monitoring site conditions, enforcing safety requirements, coordinating inspections, tracking progress, and addressing field issues as they arise. The Assistant Superintendent helps maintain quality control, supports schedule adherence, and promotes clear communication between the field, project management team, and trade partners to ensure successful project execution.

This is a full‑time traveling position. The employee will be on the road the majority of the time generally working 10 days on and 4 days off, moving between project locations as assigned. Travel will routinely involve multi‑day or multi‑week stays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Professional appearance and attitude, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to represent Coast Construction Group in a positive and professional manner.

Thorough knowledge of coordination and scheduling.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.

Proficient at reading, writing, and comprehending contractual legal documents and/or draft addendums.

PC literate for correspondence spreadsheet tracking and project management coordination, including basic skills with MS Office. MS Project a plus.

Demonstrates established and consistent methods of multi‑tasking abilities and attention to detail.
