Job summary

EC Construction is seeking a full-charge bookkeeper to manage daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks from the Reno office, reporting to the owner Lonnie Fixel. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision and bring strong QuickBooks and Excel skills to a construction setting.

The role involves payroll, accounts payable/receivable, tax submissions, and project costing with attention to confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2-year college degree preferred with a focus on accounting
• 3-5 years bookkeeping experience in construction or similar field
• Experience in job costing for construction projects is preferred
• Familiarity with accounting principles and timely reporting
• Supervisory experience is a plus
• Expertise in QuickBooks and Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

• Perform full-charge bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll and tax submissions
• Run biweekly payroll and AP processes
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements daily; manage AR and collections
• Prepare and file state and local tax and licensing submissions
• Maintain financial records and ensure data security; monitor interdepartmental requests
• Assist with budgeting and project cost tracking for construction projects
