Job description

The typical starting salary range is between $26.70 - $32.04 hourly, depending on qualifications, experience, and budget considerations. Job Responsibilities

1. Supervise construction crews and projects, assign daily tasks, provide instructions, review performance, ensure compliance with local building codes, and interpret blueprints and drawings.
2. Coordinate project resources and schedules by estimating materials, equipment, and labor needs.
3. Supervise and participate in carpentry projects such as roof and wall framing, concrete forming, structural steel erection, decks, ramps, steps, railings, and related work, ensuring adherence to codes and standards.
4. Supervise and participate in concrete and masonry projects, including flatwork, walls, foundations, stairs, and pavers, maintaining quality and standards.
5. Supervise roofing projects, ensuring proper installation of roofing systems, gutters, flashing, and related work per manufacturer and industry standards.
6. Provide supervisory and technical support for various departmental projects to ensure viability and compliance.
7. Maintain job site safety following industry standards.
8. Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

Completion of trades schooling or apprenticeship and five years of experience in structural maintenance or rough carpentry, including one year in a lead role, or equivalent experience.

Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Selection and Appointment

A selection committee will evaluate applicants based on education, experience, responses to questions, references, and other relevant information. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed. Candidates must score at least 70 on the interview to be considered for appointment. After interviews, top candidates will be certified to the Department Director for final decision.

Conditional offers are contingent upon passing a urinalysis screening for illegal drugs, paid for by the County.
