Job summary

Moyle Construction seeks a Financial Controller to join our team in Houghton, Michigan, or the surrounding area. This full-time, in-office role leads a small team and oversees receivables, billing, collections, payments, cash flow, and monthly financial statements while collaborating with leadership on project costs and budgets.

We offer a starting salary of $70,000–$105,000 with discretionary bonus potential, comprehensive health coverage, a 401(k) with company match, PTO, relocation

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in financial reporting & accounting functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree a bonus.
• Accounting experience in the construction industry a bonus.
• Knowledge of business insurance, 401(k), and employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team (2-4 staff members).
• Oversee accounts receivable, billing, collections & vendor payments.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure financial accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
• Work with leadership to track project costs, financial performance, and budgetary items.
• Review, procure and manage business & health insurance programs.
• Assist with employee benefits & retirement plan administration.
