Job summary

Jobot in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Permanent Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations. You will manage billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory, and revenue recognition, while coordinating budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial statements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, at least 5 years in a similar role, GAAP expertise, and experience in construction accounting with QuickBooks or similar software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years experience as Assistant Controller or similar role.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Hands-on with accounting software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO in managing all accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variances.
• Publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Own treasury functions and cash management.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Meet local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and policies to strengthen controls.
• Perform other controller duties as needed.
