Job summary

Geocon Professional Services is seeking a Construction Manager to lead field technicians and act as the primary link between field staff and clients. The role involves overseeing daily field operations, reviewing reports, and visiting sites to ensure quality and client confidence.

Based out of Rockford, Frankfort, or Glendale Heights in Illinois. Ideal candidates have hands-on inspection or materials testing experience and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, or construction management.
• Bachelor's degree in civil/geotechnical/construction management, or equivalent experience.
• PE or EIT preferred but not required; licensure encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and support a team of construction field technicians performing inspection and materials testing.
• Review field reports, test results, and daily logs for accuracy and conformance with plans and specs.
• Serve as main contact between field staff and clients (owners, municipalities, contractors, design teams).
• Communicate test results and field issues promptly and coordinate corrective actions.
• Perform site visits to observe work, resolve problems, and provide hands-on support.
