Job summary

E&K Building Excellence is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support Kansas City operations and lead teams across commercial specialty construction projects. You will partner with project management, field leadership, general contractors, and trade partners to keep projects moving safely and efficiently, upholding E&K’s standards for quality and performance.

This role blends office responsibilities with regular time on active jobsites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience leading or overseeing field operations across multiple active construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, schedules, and related docs.
• Strong leadership to influence foremen, field teams, and project stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to active jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a regular presence on assigned jobsites and collaborate with foremen and senior operations leadership.
• Support and reinforce field training programs and employee development plans.
• Coordinate delivery and availability of materials, equipment, and resources for field operations.
• Provide input into labor costs and assumptions used in bidding and estimating.
• Monitor workmanship quality and reinforce E&K standards and project requirements.
• Contribute to production schedules and liaise with general contractors and trades.
• Lead pre-job field coordination and sequencing of E&K work with other trades.
• Promote a strong safety culture and safe work practices on sites.
• Build relationships with foremen, project teams, and trade partners to support project execution.
