Job summary

Sheladia Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Field Inspector to join the DMV area team. The role involves on-site inspections, ensuring compliance with building codes, and reviewing blueprints and specifications to safeguard quality and safety across projects.

The candidate should have an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management, NBIS certification, and 3–5 years of inspection experience. Travel to multiple DMV sites is required; salary is hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
• NBIS certification is required.
• NICET, MARTCP, and OSHA 30-Hour are preferred certifications.
• Experience of 3–5 years in construction inspection or related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to DMV area sites.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical Construction Field Inspector to join our team in the DMVarea.The location will be determined based on site/client office location.

As a Construction Field Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects meet all required standards, codes, and specifications.

• Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects at various stages of completion

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management, with a minimum of 1 year of sidewalk/pavement construction experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection or related field
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
• Proficiency in inspection techniques and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in using inspection software and mobile devices
• National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) certification – required
• National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) – preferred
• Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) for Concrete Field and Asphalt Field – preferred
• Relevant certifications (Concrete Field, Asphalt Field, and Soils and Aggregate Compaction, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety) preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various construction sites in the DMV area
• Physical ability to navigate construction sites and perform inspections in various weather conditions

Additional Information

Proposed Salary:$40.00 – $47.50 per hour, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
