Job summary

Kiewit, based in Boulder, CO, invites you to join its internship program in the Field Operations group. This hands-on, real-world learning experience covers construction management fundamentals and exposes you to estimating, scheduling and safety in a large-scale project environment.

As an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Construction Management or Engineering, you will work with a diverse team, develop critical skills, and gain exposure to office and field activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree
• Broad knowledge of project scheduling and cost control; ability to read drawings/specifications
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with industry tools like SureTrak, Revit, SAP is a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
• Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to team success
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel/relocate as required
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule construction activities.
• Review proposals, specifications and drawings; perform material takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials.
• Plan and schedule job segments and monitor progress; maintain owner relations.
• Maintain records of project progress, costs, and material usage.
• Support safety programs and ensure compliance on site.
• Travel to various site locations as needed.
