The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has an excellent career opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform repair and maintenance of various building systems, including, but not limited to, construction activities, modular furniture systems, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related equipment.

Key Activities :

  • Perform general carpentry and building-related construction tasks, including moderately complex service calls.
  • Reconfigure commercial office furniture, install keyboard trays, deliver office or desk keys, hang artwork, and perform some painting and drywall refinishing. Also, modular carpet installation and drop ceiling tile work.
  • Assist other technicians in all phases of facilities-related assignments.
  • Able to work overtime as necessary.
  • Receive work orders via the work order system, determine requirements, schedule work, identify repair parts, and gather materials.
  • Complete miscellaneous ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • No prior experience required; three or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in skilled crafts/trades such as carpentry, construction, building automation controls, or energy management systems.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturers’ warnings, labels, instructions, and MSDS.
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on engineered MEP drawings.
  • Proficiency in operating portable power tools, table saws, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and project plans.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Multitasking skills and efficient time management to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills, including internet applications, Microsoft Outlook, and Office.
  • Effective documentation and communication of system or structural changes.
  • Ability to suggest procedural improvements and assist in their implementation.
  • Strong initiative, innovative thinking, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information :

  • Location : Onsite at the KC office, 100% of the time.
  • Pay Range : Starting from $43,700 to $77,000, depending on qualifications and location.
  • Sponsorship : Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
