Job summary

Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, a leading roofing contractor, is seeking a construction estimator to prepare cost estimates, obtain vendor quotes, and coordinate with customers and teams. The role requires hands-on takeoffs, field measurements, and thorough cost analysis to support competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of estimating experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple bids and reports effectively.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of construction estimating experience.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction cost estimates by doing takeoffs and analyzing all costs associated with the work.
• Obtains quotes from vendors and subcontractors and ensures that scopes and qualifications meet project needs.
• Attends meetings and speaks with customers, professionals, suppliers and team members.
• Field measure and take core samples on existing buildings.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
• Research upcoming projects
• Track bid volumes for reporting
• Other duties as assigned
