Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator specializing in Multifamily and Commercial Construction for Renovations, TI-Build Outs, and New Construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating project costs and creating budgets to guide our construction efforts. They must possess a strong understanding of construction processes and materials, with a keen eye for detail to accurately forecast the cost, size, and duration of future projects.
Responsibilities:
- Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare estimates.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and specifications.
- Analyze and compute costs based on labor, materials, and time requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant information.
- Build and present detailed, itemized cost summaries.
- Maintain and back up the cost database regularly.
- Enhance technical knowledge through workshops and reviewing publications.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and engineers to gather project details.
- Oversee pre-construction duties such as design reviews and scheduling.
- Create and present project estimate reports to management.
- Review design changes to ensure they align with budget constraints.
- Develop strategies to meet project goals, including scheduling and supply orders.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
- Extensive knowledge of Multifamily and Commercial construction processes.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent math and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with construction software for job costing, scheduling, and project management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate construction sites, including maneuvering in partially completed buildings, stairs, and outdoor/indoor walking.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
