Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team to support large-scale infrastructure projects in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively and have a proven track record of delivering accurate estimates.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, at least five years in civil infrastructure estimating (rail experience preferred), and experience with conceptual and pre-construction estimating.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5 years of civil infrastructure construction estimating experience, with rail experience highly preferred.
• Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs.
• Good knowledge of value management and value engineering in construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design across multiple geographic regions; with internal and external staff.
• Deliver updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
• Experience in providing program-level estimates for specific scopes of work.
• Coordinate, manage, and supervise the work of support staff.
• Review design changes/new technologies and preparing estimates within appropriate accuracy levels.
• Help drive cost model trends by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing cost information from completed projects.
• Assess cost effectiveness of alternate products and value engineering ideas at a program level.
• Support training to Development and external Estimating teams on new project estimating tools/templates.
• Support preparation of leadership presentations for the client’s Preconstruction and Estimating team.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil infrastructure (Aviation, Rail, Transportation, Bridges/Roads/Highways, Tunnels, Utilities)construction experience working in an estimating role supporting major programs. Rail experience is highly preferred
• Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
• Experience supportinglarge scale construction projects and programs.
• Goodknowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
