Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join an established construction company specializing in residential and multifamily mechanical and plumbing projects. This role offers significant growth potential, including the opportunity to lead a team and / or pair with project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Estimating & Bidding: Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical and plumbing packages on residential and multifamily projects; review project plans, specifications, and contract documents; analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive bid proposals; support business development efforts with potential project values exceeding $100M annually
- Leadership & Team Development: Grow into leading and mentoring a team of 2-3 estimating professionals; establish and maintain estimating standards and best practices; collaborate with project management and field operations teams; potential to transition into full-cycle project management role
- Client Relations: Maintain relationships with established client base; support proposal presentations and client meetings; ensure estimates align with client expectations and project requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (NOT required)
- Minimum 4 years of construction estimating experience
- Strong background in mechanical and / or plumbing systems
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Leadership experience or demonstrated leadership potential
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with residential and multifamily construction projects
- Knowledge of current construction methods, materials, and costs
- Experience with project management responsibilities
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
