Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by accurately estimating costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and contractors.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to develop comprehensive project budgets.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project scope and changes.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Must have knowledge of all types of heavy equipment such as Excavators, Bobcats with attachments (skid steer, sweeper, grinders, compaction wheels, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of Demolition construction is recommended.
