Job summary

You will prepare accurate estimates for civil and utility projects, perform take-offs, analyze costs, and help develop profitable bids while coordinating with leadership, field teams, and subcontractors.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with plans and specifications, and proficiency in budgeting and cost analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating, project costing, or preconstruction support.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and construction documents.
• Proficiency in quantity take-offs, budgeting, and cost analysis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.
• Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost summaries for management review and client submission.
• Track estimate assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and scope details with documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and leadership to align estimating with execution goals.
• Monitor market pricing, cost trends, and actual job costs to improve future estimates.
• Assist with value engineering options and alternative pricing scenarios.
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid records, and supporting documentation.
