Job summary

MyStaff in Nebraska is seeking a construction estimator to turn blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project documents into accurate estimates, perform material, labor, and subcontractor takeoffs, and obtain competitive bids from vendors.

You will review bids for scope gaps, develop clear scopes of work, work with Sales, Project Managers, Engineers, and Drafting, and help with budgets, cost tracking, and project financial reviews while building strong vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction drawings and technical documents.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Attention to detail in reviewing bids and scope items.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related software.

Responsibilities

• Dive into blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project documents and turn them into accurate estimates.
• Perform detailed material, labor, and subcontractor takeoffs.
• Get competitive bids from vendors and subcontractors and know a good number when you see one.
• Review bids for accuracy, completeness, and those scope gaps that can turn into big problems.
• Develop clear scopes of work and help identify cost risks before they become headaches.
• Work closely with Sales, Project Managers, Engineers, and Drafting to bring projects together.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with budgets, cost tracking, and project financial reviews.
• Find ways to make our estimating process smarter, faster, and more accurate.
