Job summary

GMi in Austin, TX is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive construction cost estimates. You will review bid documents, perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing from plans and specs, and ensure estimates meet company standards and client needs.

You’ll support business development by building strong client relationships, solicit vendor pricing, and prepare clear proposals. Proficiency with OST and Quick Bid, plus drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and exterior cladding

Qualifications

• Experience with drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and exterior cladding.
• Ability to read construction documents and codes.
• Proficiency in OST and Quick Bid.
• Strong vendor negotiation and cost estimation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and customer requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost estimates using OST and Quick Bid.
• Ensure all scope components are captured and aligned with contract documents and specifications.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor pricing and subcontract scopes.
• Prepare clear, professional proposals for submission.
• Coordinate and prepare complete estimate turnover packages for the Project Management team upon award.
• Build new customer relationships and maintain relationships with existing GMi clients.
• Maintain adherence to bidding protocols and procedures.
• Uphold ethics, integrity, and professionalism in estimating activities.
