Qualifications

• Mid-level estimating role requiring proven experience with estimates under moderate supervision.
• Knowledge of plan reading, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and bid documentation.
• Ability to coordinate pricing input, identify scope gaps, and participate in reviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for assigned projects in accordance with branch standards, bid requirements, and margin expectations.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents to understand scope and identify missing information.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and apply labor, material, equipment, production, and subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit, organize, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to confirm scope coverage and competitiveness.
• Prepare bid forms, proposal language, inclusions, exclusions, alternates, and clarifications for review.
• Coordinate with sales and operations to confirm field conditions, schedule considerations, access constraints, and project execution needs.
• Participate in internal estimate reviews, handoff meetings, and post-bid follow-up.
• Maintain organized estimate files, pricing records, takeoff documentation, and bid history.

This role reviews bid documents, performs quantity takeoffs, builds pricing, coordinates vendor and subcontractor input, and supports the branch’s ability to pursue profitable work. The Estimator works under the direction of the Pre-Construction Manager or Senior Estimator and collaborates with sales and operations to ensure bids are aligned with scope, schedule, and customer expectations.
