Construction Estimator

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join their New York City office. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping successful projects by accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, and supporting procurement of materials, equipment, and services. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys analyzing numbers and project requirements, and is eager to contribute to projects from inception through completion.

Qualifications
  • Experience in estimating and commercial interiors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with solid experience in estimating, budgeting, and cost analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Project, and Bluebeam, with solid technical and computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and prepare reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to calculate figures, solve practical problems, and interpret data for decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with diverse stakeholders, adapt to changing environments, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Compile financial data from suppliers and subcontractors to support accurate project cost estimation and bid preparation.
  • Help identify project needs, source materials and services, manage purchase orders, and track delivery/logistics.
  • Prepare bid packages, communicate with subcontractors and vendors, and ensure all bids meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Review project requirements, participate in site walkthroughs, compile RFIs, and ensure trade scopes align with project specifications.
  • Maintain subcontractor documentation, distribute contracts and change orders, build relationships, and support smooth project turnover to the management team.
