Job summary

ROXBOX is seeking a Construction Estimator to join the Houston team. We welcome varying levels of experience, with a focus on accuracy, curiosity, and the ability to work through complex project information to generate buildable estimates.

Responsibilities include developing cost estimates, reviewing drawings, and performing quantity takeoffs to turn project requirements into precise bids. This role reports to the Lead Estimator in a full-time, on-site capacity in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of experience in construction estimating, project coordination, or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical drawings.
• Analytical and detail oriented; strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates.
• Capable of working independently while collaborating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates for complex modular construction projects.
• Prepare project estimates using internal pricing, material and labor costs, historical data, and vendor quotes.
• Review drawings, specifications and documents to understand scope and estimating requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate materials, labor, equipment costs.
• Clarify scope and requirements through client discussions and internal reviews.
• Prepare and update bids, pricing breakdowns, and supporting information as designs evolve.
• Maintain pricing data, cost data, vendor pricing and project records.
• Collaborate with Sales, Design, Project Management, Procurement and Production to reflect real-world constraints.

ROXBOX is looking for a Construction Estimator to join our Houston team Were open to a range of experiencefrom someone early in their estimating career whos ready to learn and grow to an experienced estimator who can independently develop complex bids and help improve our estimating systems What matters most is technical aptitude accuracy curiosity and the ability to independently work through complex project information to turn project requirements into accurate buildable estimates

What Youll Do

• Develop Cost Estimates
• Prepare project estimates using internal pricing material and labor costs historical data and vendorsubcontractor quotes
• Review Drawings & Specifications
• Analyze architectural structural and MEP documents to understand scope materials construction methods and estimating requirements
• Perform Quantity Takeoffs
• Calculate materials labor equipment and other project costs based on drawings and project requirements
• Clarify Scope & Requirements
• Participate in client discovery and internal project discussions to ensure scope priorities and budget expectations are accurately reflected in estimates
• Gather Market Pricing Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing lead times and scope information
• Prepare & Update Bids Build pricing breakdowns and supporting information then revise estimates as designs and project requirements evolve
• Manage Pricing Data Maintain accurate and organized estimating information cost data vendor pricing and project records
• Collaborate Across Teams Work closely with Sales Design Project Management Procurement and Production to ensure estimates reflect real world construction requirements
• Improve How We Estimate As your experience grows help refine pricing data estimating tools SOPs and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency

What Makes You a Strong Fit

• Were intentionally flexible on years of experience You may be a developing estimator with strong construction aptitude or an experienced professional ready to hit the ground running
• At least 13 years of experience in construction estimating project management project coordination project engineering or related fields internships count
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints specifications and technical drawings
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; Bluebeam and estimating software experience are a plus
• Analytical and detail orientedyou notice the small things that make a big difference
• Organized and comfortable managing multiple estimates and deadlines
• Curious and resourcefulyou want to understand the why behind the numbers
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
• Bonus points for experience with modular volumetric steel fabrication off site or industrialized construction

Compensation & Details

• 65000 95000 DOE with compensation aligned to experience and level of estimating responsibility
• Full time position with Medical Dental Vision PTO and additional benefits
