The Construction Estimator’s primary focus is to generate profitable revenue for the Construction Division. The Estimator will collaborate with production teams and management to propose services and products within clients’ budgets, ensuring a fair profit margin for LW, and to do so efficiently and timely.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of the construction process.
- Highly organized and structured in daily work habits.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines daily.
- Adaptability to changing tasks and deadlines.
- Experience with producing takeoffs and estimating landscape construction jobs.
- Basic computer operation skills and experience with estimating software.
- Horticultural or related degree or industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple project estimates simultaneously.
- Identify landscape projects and obtain bid documents via job boards and industry contacts.
- Track inbound bid requests and opportunities; maintain relationships with contractors, architects, and owners.
- Use software to analyze construction drawings for bid estimates.
- Prepare material lists and solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors.
- Maintain current material pricing information.
- Assess labor requirements based on installation time estimates.
- Compile complete bids including material, subcontractor, labor, and travel costs.
- Deliver proposals by deadlines in required formats.
- Coordinate with GCs to ensure receipt of addendums, RFIs, and incorporate changes.
- Follow up on proposal status with stakeholders.
- Build long-term relationships with GCs, architects, and owners to position Landscape Workshop as their preferred vendor.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and facilitate project onboarding.
- Ensure contractual and documentation accuracy for awarded bids, including insurance, licenses, W9s, bonds, etc.
- Coordinate with back office for documentation and prepare submittals for approval.
