Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to join one of our industrial construction clients in Mesa, AZ. This role develops accurate estimates for structural steel projects from bid phase through award, collaborating with fabrication, purchasing, field operations, and pre-construction teams to support successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has experience reviewing drawings, performing material takeoffs, and estimating labor, equipment, crane costs, and subcontracted

Qualifications

• 3 years of structural steel estimating experience
• Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and field erection processes
• Experience estimating labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
• Knowledge of estimating software platforms
• Understanding of job costing and project management concepts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Review structural steel drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate project estimates
• Perform material takeoffs and estimate labor, equipment, crane costs, subcontractors, and purchased materials
• Develop bids for new projects and pricing for change orders on existing projects
• Collaborate with fabrication, erection, purchasing, and project teams to ensure project scope is fully understood
• Identify and communicate potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost impacts
• Enter estimating data, takeoffs, and project information into estimating software and company systems
• Partner with Sales and Pre-Construction teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables

Insight Global is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to join one of our industrial construction clients. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate and detailed estimates for structural steel projects of varying size and complexity. The Estimator will work closely with fabrication, purchasing, field operations, pre-construction, and project teams to support successful project execution from bid phase through award.

Day-to-Day

• Review structural steel drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Perform material takeoffs and estimate labor, equipment, crane costs, subcontractors, and purchased materials.
• Develop bids for new projects and pricing for change orders on existing projects.
• Collaborate with fabrication, erection, purchasing, and project teams to ensure project scope is fully understood.
• Identify and communicate potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost impacts.
• Enter estimating data, takeoffs, and project information into estimating software and company systems.
• Partner with Sales and Pre-Construction teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

• Bluebeam experience.
• Knowledge of estimating software platforms.
