Description

A Construction Estimator reviews project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure alignment with scope and requirements. They collaborate with teams to refine project management and maintain accurate cost projections. They facilitate key meetings, prepare proposals, and use software tools to enhance efficiency in subcontractor bids and project execution. Additionally, they build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to company initiatives, ensuring comprehensive scope and budget alignment for successful project delivery.

  • Location: Minnetonka, MN
  • Salary: $95k-110k

  • Hours: Mon-Fri, Full-Time
Essential Job Functions
  1. Review project plans and specifications, including blueprints and BIM models.
  2. Support and facilitate meetings for bid completion and project updates.
  3. Collaborate with project team members to refine estimates and ensure alignment with project goals.
  4. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather bids and qualifications.
  5. Develop detailed bids and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
  6. Maintain detailed records of costs for analysis and future reference.
  7. Utilize software platforms like SmartSheet, HubSpot, Sketchup, Bluebeam to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Ensure scope and budget alignment through collaboration.
  9. Prepare and present proposals, meeting company margin goals.
  10. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including operations, design, and trade partners.
  11. Participate in company initiatives to advance team capabilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in the construction industry.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with BIM, estimation software, Microsoft Office suite.
  • Understanding of construction law, business practices, and building systems.
  • Positive professional attitude and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% for project visits and meetings.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Some travel required.
