SourceLine in Orlando, FL is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Level I or II) to diagnose, service, and repair construction rental equipment both in the shop and on-site at customer sites. The role emphasizes independent work while supporting the team, with a focus on earthmoving gear, diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a strong track record in mechanical repair or related education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10 years of mechanical repair experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to document work through work orders and databases.
• Safety-conscious with strong teamwork and customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair construction rental equipment in shop and field.
• Troubleshoot diesel/gas engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Perform component repairs, replacements, rebuilds, and adjustments using manuals and diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect equipment for safety and rental readiness.
• Support emergency repairs in the field and test repairs for returning to service.
• Operate equipment to verify issues and move units safely.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Coordinate parts needs, including ordering and returns.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs when required.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and participate in training.
