Pay Range

This range is provided by NYS Office of General Services. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $39,215.00/yr - $48,294.00/yr

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in grounds operation and maintenance by operating equipment such as mowers, street sweepers, loaders, salt spreaders, dump trucks, backhoes, and aerial lift trucks.
• Perform manual labor for grounds maintenance tasks.
• Load trash manually into a garbage hauler and transport it to the transfer station.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Operational Requirements

• Valid NYS CDL with airbrake endorsement.
• Ability to operate a forklift (OSHA certification provided after appointment).
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, platform lifts, boom lifts, etc.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Mandatory overtime may be required for snow/ice control, special events, and emergencies, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience operating equipment such as self-propelled sweepers, front-end loaders, and dump trucks, along with a valid New York State driver’s license for the vehicle type. A demonstration test may be required during the interview. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing are mandatory, with random testing thereafter.
