Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying or closely related field.
• 2 years of highway construction, engineering or survey field work experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and work experience, directly related to highway construction, survey, or engineering, to equal or exceed 2 years.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts construction, topographic, and location surveys. Operates Robotic Total Station, GPS, Data Collector or other survey equipment to compile survey notes for design calculations and construction.
• Performs CAD and spreadsheet work in preparation for staking layouts and quantity take-off/design verification.
• Computes earthwork, roadway surfacing, drainage, landscaping quantities and other engineering calculations to determine pay items and cost estimates.
• Test aggregate, soils and concrete to ensure compliance with state regulations.
