Are you a recent graduate passionate about the environment and resilient communities? As a Construction Engineering Project Specialist, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting federal and state grant programs, focusing on mitigation projects that strengthen communities.

This remote position requires candidates to be located in Florida or South Georgia.

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage mitigation projects from pre-award to closeout, coordinating with all parties.
• Draft and review project agreements and modifications.
• Assess grant applications' eligibility, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
• Submit applications to FEMA for funding.
• Conduct site inspections across Florida's Panhandle for compliance.
• Monitor active projects, review reports, process payments, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial and grant data, assist with reporting, and track budgets.
• Maintain knowledge of federal rules and regulations, including FEMA, ARPA, SLFRF, IIJA, and others.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Support project closeouts and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 1+ years' experience in engineering, construction, or internships considered.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within Florida's Panhandle.
• Knowledge of FEMA benefit-cost analysis preferred.
