Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Construction Engineering & Inspection Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary projects in Texas, with emphasis on TXDOT and public agency work. The role focuses on coordinating schedules, budgets, and technical reviews, while building strong client relationships and ensuring project success.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in transportation engineering, a civil engineering degree, and a preference for PE licensure and formal PM training.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of transportation engineering experience with strong technical skills in construction.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering preferred.
• PE license preferred and formal training in project management is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and understanding of contract terms.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-disciplined projects for TXDOT and other public agencies.
• Provide project management for all Construction Inspection projects.
• Build and maintain client relationships and achieve financial goals.
• Coordinate project activities, schedules, and budgets, and oversee plans, specs, costs, and reports.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with stakeholders, sub-consultants, and right-of-way plans.
• Supervise staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and salary recommendations.

Construction Engineering & Inspection Project Manager

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Manager who will play an active role in building our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Texas! Preferred office locations are San Antonio, New Braunfels, or Austin.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-disciplined projects for TXDOT and other public agencies.


• Provide project management for all Construction Inspection projects.


• Build and maintain client relationships.


• Achieve or exceed the financial goals for the project.


• Organize cross-functional activities, and coordinate project activities for the completion of the project (i.e., project deliverables, schedule and budget).


• Management and oversight of plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages for state highway and interchange improvement projects.


• Provide guidance for inspection staff, review, recommend and process change orders, partial payments and closeout of projects.


• Review shop drawings for horizontal & vertical alignments, drainage plans, construction staging/traffic control plans, signing & pavement markings plans, utility coordination, sub-consultant coordination, and preparation of right-of-way plans for various type of projects and clients.


• Establish working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.


• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and schedule performance.


• Prepare technical and cost proposals.


• Supervise staff, including hiring, scheduling, assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering preferred.


• 8+ years of transportation engineering experience with strong technical skills in construction required.


• PE license preferred.


• Formal training in project management preferred.


• Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.


• Possess a good understanding of project contract terms and conditions is expected.


• Strong oral and written communication skills.


• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
