Role Overview & Impact

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Engineer III supporting projects such as roadways, bridges, underground installations, and treatment plants in our Chicago or Naperville offices. The role involves supporting construction activities, working directly with clients, and assisting with design tasks when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests.
• Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors, and agencies.
• Protect owners against defects and deficiencies.
• Serve as liaison with contractors.
• Maintain job site records, reports, and documentation.
• Monitor progress and review pay requests.
• Perform detailed design work as needed.
• Engage in general civil engineering and client service.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil/Construction Engineering from an accredited program (construction emphasis preferred).
• Professional Engineering License required.
• 5+ years of progressive construction engineering experience.
• Experience with IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects; Chicago DOT and METRA experience desirable.
• Proficiency with proprietary software (IDOT CMMS, ISTHA eBuilder, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
