Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson in Moon Township, PA, is seeking a roadway construction inspector to perform field observations, measure dimensions, and ensure compliance with plans and codes. This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, computer proficiency, and a valid driver's license with the ability to pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Experience in roadway construction inspection is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Active driver's license and reliable motor vehicle.
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods for compliance with laws and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and pavement.
• Gather and maintain record documents.
• Make field notes and computations.

Required Technical/Administrative Skills & Qualifications

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
