The U.S. Army Reserve is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer for a part-time role, offering hands-on operation of heavy construction equipment, training, and opportunities to advance civilian careers in construction and engineering.

You will receive world-class training, gain experience in earthmoving and site prep, and contribute to infrastructure development and disaster response while supporting mission readiness.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders) and assist in earthmoving.
• Support road and airfield construction, site preparation, and earthwork.
• Develop skills in equipment maintenance, safety standards, and project execution.

Job Overview:

Jumpstart or advance your construction and engineering career through part-time federal service as a Horizontal Construction Engineer in the U.S. Army Reserve. In this role, you will receive world‑class training and hands‑on experience operating heavy construction equipment while developing technical skills that directly translate to civilian construction and engineering careers. As a Horizontal Construction Engineer, you will gain experience in earthmoving, site preparation, road and airfield construction, and operating equipment such as bulldozers, graders, excavators, and loaders. You will also develop skills in equipment maintenance, safety standards, and project executionearning industry‑relevant training and certifications that enhance your civilian employability. Your expertise will play a critical role in supporting infrastructure development, disaster response, and mission readiness, while allowing you to continue building your civilian career.

Requirements:

Attend a 14-week paid training program to gain skills and certifications in construction, engineering, demolition, and heavy equipment operations.

Advanced certifications require additional full funded training programs.
