Responsibilities

Conduct on-site inspections of electrical installations in new construction or renovation projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications and safety standards. Work involves moderate supervision and may require working evenings, weekends, or holidays on a 24-hour on-call basis, often at construction sites with dust, mud, noise, heights, and weather conditions.

Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or inspection.
  3. Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent; Provisional licenses are not accepted. Must upload a copy of your license with your application.
  4. Certification by ICC as a Combination Inspector or Electrical Inspector for Residential or Commercial Buildings, or certification from the North American Board of Certified Practitioners, or an equivalent certifying entity.
  5. Knowledge of construction and electrical installation methods, materials, standards, and safety practices including OSHA regulations.
  6. Ability to interpret drawings, perform mathematical calculations, communicate effectively, and maintain records.
Additional Requirements
  • Possess or previously held a master electrician license (state or local) within the last five years, without suspension or revocation.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • All candidates will be evaluated based on their education, training, and experience as detailed in their application.
Selection Process

Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list for at least six months. The selection process involves an evaluation of your application and possibly supplemental questions to assess specific skills and knowledge.
