Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in heavy diesel repair required.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License mandatory.
  • Class A CDL with Tanker and Haz/Mat endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency heavy equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose operational issues.
  • Complete paperwork and maintain accurate system records.

Job description

We are looking for a full time, experienced, Mobile Construction Diesel Mechanic IIII to complete tasks around the surrounding Raleigh, Durham, NC area.

Pay Range: $30-35 (depending on experience)

Working Conditions:

  • Normal work hours are 7am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
  • Weekend work may be required, as needed.
  • Must be able and ready to work in all weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)
  • Must also be able to tolerate a loud work environment.

Required Skills

  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License is required.
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Haz/Mat Endorsements is preferred.
  • Must provide own tools (ie: air tools, wrenches, sockets, and other tools as required).

  • EDUCATION: High school or equivalent required. Certificate or degree program from a two (2) year college or technical school preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The field service diesel mechanic will provide day-to-day routine and emergency heavy equipment repairs, as well as preventative maintenance.
  • Performs repairs communicated on operator inspection forms.
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, observes, listens, and performs diagnostics to equipment in operation to determine malfunction. Also, plans work procedures. Reports observations to immediate supervisor.
  • Overhauls gas and diesel engines and other major power train components utilizing the latest technical information.
  • Test-drives required equipment to verify and confirm repairs.
  • Fabricates lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; standard practices or procedures allow employee to proceed alone at routine work.
  • Completes all required company, state, and federal paperwork. Maintains accurate system records of labor time, work completed, and parts and supplies used in Computerized Maintenance Management Information System software (CMMIS).
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
