Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Foreman to manage construction crews from start to finish, ensuring timely, within-budget project completion while upholding quality standards.

This safety-sensitive role requires directing field personnel, coordinating resources, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The Foreman will train and mentor workers, oversee daily scheduling, and report progress to site engineers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or related role with proven leadership.
• Working knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and methods.
• Ability to drive projects to completion on time and on budget.
• Experience training, mentoring, and supervising workers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey information clearly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
• Customer service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans; adjust for weather, materials, and personnel.
• Delegate responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
• Train, mentor, and supervise employees and contractors.
• Provide resources to meet project schedules, safety needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment; train on safety gear.
• Develop and manage site quality standards.
• Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
• Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers, and stakeholders.
