Job summary

Rockland Trust's Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern role offers hands-on exposure to construction lending and portfolio management, working with experienced professionals to monitor, fund, and administer projects from start to finish.

You will develop analytical, organizational, and communication skills while collaborating on signature summer projects and learning across banking, finance, and commercial real estate.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Real Estate, Construction Management or related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in loan documentation and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for collaboration and reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced internship environment.
• Self-motivation to work independently and contribute to team objectives.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities relevant to lending and project finance.
• Professionalism and willingness to learn in a banking environment.
• Interest in commercial lending, construction finance, or real estate development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining construction loans within Construct, the Bank's cloud-based construction loan management platform.
• Review loan and construction documentation to support onboarding and management of construction projects.
• Update and maintain construction project budgets and related project information.
• Participate in the construction requisition and inspection process.
• Support the management and distribution of department communications and inbox requests.
• Assist with retrieving documentation needed for audits, reviews, and ongoing compliance activities.
• Create reports and summaries to support the Construction Team Manager and department initiatives.
• Help ensure construction loan information remains accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Gain exposure to how commercial construction projects are managed from both lending and operational perspectives.
• Participate in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns.
