Job summary

Monrovia Nursery is seeking a general construction craftsman for the woodshop under Maintenance and Facilities. The role focuses on general maintenance of buildings and offices across the nursery and building new areas as required.

Candidate should have carpentry/woodworking experience, basic math, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following instructions and safety rules. Flexible schedule with some weekend hours may be required.

Job Description / Duties

We are currently seeking a general construction craftsman for the woodshop under the Maintenance and Facilities Department. The primary function is general maintenance of building and offices throughout the nursery and building new areas.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Basic use of hand tools (hammer, wrench, and tape measure).
• Experience with powered tools such as drills, saws, air nailers.
• Experience in any form of construction including carpentry, woodworking, framing, etc.
• The ability to multi-task, follow-through and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact with a diverse workforce effectively and professionally.
• Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
• Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail and number accuracy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
• Must be available to work the following schedule:
• Monday- Friday- 7:30am to 5pm.
• Saturday: 7:30 to 2:30pm
• Additional hours as necessary

Descripción de Trabajo / Deberes

Estamos en búsqueda de un artesano con experiencia general de construcción para trabajar en el departamento de Mantenimiento.

La función primaria es dar mantenimiento general a todos los edificios y oficinas del vivero y construir áreas nuevas

Otras responsabilidades pueden ser asignadas según sea necesario, con alojamientos razonables, para apoyar a la organización de e Monrovia.

Calificaciones

• Habilidades básicas de lectura, escritura y matemáticas
• Uso básico de herramientas (martillo, cinta de medida, pinzas).
• Experiencia con herramienta motorizada (taladros, cortadoras, pistolas de aire).
• Tener experiencia en construcción incluyendo carpintería o todo tipo de reparación.
• Tener la habilidad de trabajar en varios proyectos al mismo tiempo.
• Poder interacuar con un grupo diverso de manera profesional.
• Tener la habilidad de tomar la iniciativa con la mínima dirección.
• Tener licencia de manejo valida, y un buen expediente de manejo.
• Debe ser capaz de trabajar en condiciones climáticas inclementes (calor, frío y lluvia).
• Debe estar disponible para trabajar el siguiente horario:
• Lunes-viernes-7:30am a 5pm.
• Sábado: 7:30 a 2:30pm
• Horas adicionales según sea necesario
