Overview of the Role

As a Construction Cost Estimator II, you'll be the financial architect behind major construction projects, developing precise cost estimates that drive strategic decision-making. You'll collaborate with top-tier professionals while managing a diverse portfolio of construction projects in the dynamic Houston energy market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual estimates using preliminary design documents with minimal supervision
  • Review contractor change proposals, material substitutions, and value engineering solutions
  • Maintain comprehensive cost databases leveraging historical project data
  • Prepare bid packages and scope contractor proposals
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders on project integration
  • Support project managers in cost control and budget management

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of construction or project management experience
  • 3+ years supervisory experience in construction
  • Proficiency with RS Means cost estimation software
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, and MS Project
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
